The Alberta Regional Professional Development Consortium (ARPDC) are here to support Alberta's education community in implementing the new Ministry Guidelines for Student Learning During COVID-19 directing how students will learn from home while classes are cancelled.

Beginning the week of March 30th, the ARPDC will be hosting FREE Facebook Groups and weekly on-line get togethers to support teacher networking across school authorities in grade or subject similar roles.

Teachers can join these FREE professional learning supports at any time for the rest of the school year!

By joining any or all of these on-line supports, teachers can expect to:

  • Find supportive networks of provincial colleagues to ‘think together with’ as they develop innovative and engaging learning solutions that best support every student.
  • Participate in positive conversations about supporting both synchronous & asynchronous learning using high-tech and no-tech methods.
  • Gain insights in to how other educators are supporting student diversity and student mental wellness during these trying times.
  • Participate in the provincial sharing of ideas to support learning from home focused on developing language/literacy and math/numeracy in the early years, as well as social and science in the older years as per Ministry guidelines.
  • Converse with colleagues about what evidence of learning looks like in this new learning paradigm.

A total of 5 Facebook Groups accompanied by 5 weekly on-line get togethers are available for registration.

  • Kindergarten and Gr 1
  • Gr 2 & 3
  • Gr 4,5,6
  • Gr 7,8,9 Humanities
  • Gr 7,8,9 Math & Science

Teachers can participate in as many or few of these as they would like. Upon registering, teachers will be provided with links to both the Facebook Group and the weekly on-line get togethers.  Teachers can then choose the level of participation that is right for them.

If you're a teacher looking for a community to lean on, to co-create with, and to support you in rising to the challenge of teaching in our new Alberta context, this is just the thing for you!

Sign up today - Let’s do this together, Alberta!
